Just make the picture

Just make the picture. You have the rest of your life to figure out, what it means – Keith Carter

When is a picture ready? When we have pressed the shutter button, when we have finished editing or printing it? Recently, I’ve realized that once we’ve finished a picture, it’s anything but constant. They fill with meaning, memories, for each of us in an individual way. You recognize in them new things, new meanings for yourself, you learn new things about yourself. Meanings you didn’t see in the beginning. It always remains exciting on this journey. This picture of Bronson is full of stories, experiences and memories for me after the 10 years when I printed it. The different, individual journey begins with the moment of mindfulness.

Yesterday I came across this beautiful interview with Keith Carter.
